Meet La Vonne!
LaVonne Hall is the Chief Operating Officer of Benevolent Family Services, where he leads the organization’s day-to-day operations with a focus on structure, service, and sustainability. A retired Senior Chief Petty Officer in the United States Navy, LaVonne brings over 23 years of leadership experience rooted in operational excellence and mission-driven service.
Throughout his Navy career, LaVonne served aboard four nuclear-powered submarines—USS Honolulu (SSN718), USS Newport News (SSN750), USS Boise (SSN764), and PCU Arkansas (SSN800)—where he held positions of increasing responsibility in high-stakes, high-accountability environments. His ability to lead under pressure and build strong, high-performing teams became a hallmark of his career.
LaVonne is a graduate of the Senior Enlisted Academy, a premier executive-level leadership program that emphasizes strategic decision-making, ethics, diversity, and organizational communication. He is also a certified Master Navy Leader Development Facilitator (M-NLDF), trained in adult learning theory and skilled in developing leadership at all levels.
In addition to his military accomplishments, LaVonne holds a Master’s degree in Cyber Security from the University of Charleston, West Virginia, bridging his technical expertise with his operational leadership.
At Benevolent Family Services, LaVonne oversees organizational operations, including housing, transportation services, and agency-wide compliance. His strategic mindset and commitment to excellence help drive the agency forward while ensuring every client receives compassionate, high-quality care.
