Standice Rumph serves as the Chief Executive Officer for Benevolent Family Services, LLC located primarily in Virginia Beach with a satellite office in Hampton, Virginia. As sole owner, Standice is responsible for managing the upkeep of BFS’s Trauma Informed Care practices through Mental Health Skill Building, Intensive In-Home, and Outpatient Therapy programs for adults and children with severe and chronic mental illnesses and possible co-occurring disorders. She is also charged with creating new programs for the agency by assessing the needs of the community she serves. The company has been in existence since 2012 and continues to grow and expand.

A graduate of Virginia State University, Standice earned both a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology and a Master’s in Counselor Education. In addition to studying at Hampton University briefly, Standice was one of the first students at Virginia State University to study abroad at the University of Limpopo in South Africa. While in South Africa, Standice studied the African family dynamics and worked with the U.S. Embassy on international and social issues. In 2007 she served on the Board of Directors for EGC and helped plan the 10 year anniversary. In 2013 she was a sponsor of the Rivercrest Group for the organization. Beyond all her professional roles, her greatest title is mother to her two sons, Derrick and Dylan ages two and five who remind her everyday what love truly is.

Her favorite quote is “It’s time, past time, to redefine and become our destiny” and each day she attempts to live out that meaning by helping others to define and become who they were meant to be.
